Some things to keep in a boring trip?

my family is driving a car in 2 hours, then a ferry trip 2 hours, then 5 days an island very boring. Hence when we have the cycling, kayaking and canoeing, swimming and walking. What should I bring to entertain myself for the trip, and complement these activities? any help is welcome.
