What Kayaking Involves

How can I coax my husband will do more kayaking and water sports?
I recently just taken up kayaking and absolutely adore it. But I miss having my husband when I leave. He says that sometimes, but is very shaky. He liked the water but had a drowning experience in their participation teen a canoe and no lifejacket. Would it be something simple like maybe take him to a lake with no current in motion. It is the pipe, but for some reason really scared about the kayak. I want to go camping is in, I do not want to go without my kayak. How can I help you overcome your fear? Thanks for your help:)
If your spouse has a general fear of water, swim lessons would help. Although you do not have to be a strong swimmer to go kayaking, confidence in being able to swim without a life jacket that helps with the fear (though you should never paddle without one). Even if you tube now, the water itself may not be the problem. Many people initially have a fear of being trapped inside the kayak if it turns. He may want to start with a sit-on-top, so just fall if the kayak overturns. Take in somewhere with warm water, calm. Some kayak shops and even schools have pools. If you later want to move to a closed-deck (sitting inside) ship, do so gradually. Home without sprayskirt, and practice capsize on purpose. Working with a kayak instructor will help too. Instructors will have a good lots of tips and tricks to overcome fear. In addition, a teacher may act as a "neutral" party. Funny as it sounds, from my experience in teaching, people tend to trust me more when I tell them they need to dump – it is only "part of the class" – that if they hear it from their partners. A couple of things NOT to do: Do not push your husband long way to go. Want him to enjoy kayaking, do not feel like a chore. We will progress at their own pace, probably be different from yours. And whatever you do, do not get him in the head. By the end of the season, whitewater class II may seem child's play for you, but certainly not his (or her) first. Only one bad experience can set a beginner again a long way.
