im an artist,&love the outdoors,i want to move to oregon.not sure where.any ideas? not into big cities.?

we come from a smaller sized city in michigan and want to move out west to oregon.heard eugene was nice.but ive also heard some not so great things about it.any other cities or towns that would be good to consider???we kayak,ride bikes,love the beach,but also love rainy days.i paint and sell my artwork here,and my bf in is a business rep.
