Would you recommend against it?

Mate, I’d advise against China. I used to live in Shantou, China.

And you know there are no real property rights there, the government OWN ALL LAND, so if for some reason they want to move you on – they will.

This usually means big business wants your land, or think of the Three Gorges Dam – million or more moved with no choice.

Rent is by far the best there.

So many crazy property laws around the world, Thailand for example, I could only get a 2 x 30 yrs lease. Despite actually BUYING the property. At the end of 30 years you must apply to keep your house, at the end of the second 30, you lose it…..(should you be lucky enough to be around).
