place to go camping? help please!?

OK, so i am looking for a place to go camping, a beautiful place, with mountains and a river..somewhere in Texas preferably, or in that area i guess. i would be going for my birthday, for like 3 days. we would be going sometime in like October/November. I would like to go hiking in the mountains, or woods (something that would offer somewhat of a challenge) and also kayaking (somewhere pretty) but not too hard so we like die, but someplace thats fun and is somewhat challenging like with rocks and rapids and stuff. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! thanks.

Try Colorado, Around the Durango/Silverton Area. Texas has no mountains.
