People firmiliar with paddling or rafting…..?

I am going kayaking tomorow and i need to know what kind of clothes to wear in order to keep me most warm. I have an NRS wet suit and some under armor for my upper body so that shouldnt be a problem. I have some spandex shorts and i plan on wearing those as well. I dont know what to wear over those though. I know cotton is a “NO” but i have some 100% polyester skin tight pants and i dont know if those are good. IF these will make me freeze should i just wear some fleece pants?

Making the assumption that the “wet suit” is an actual full body suit, the poly shorts should be fine. It is the wet suit that is going to keep you warm and should be kept at least damp in order to do that.

Stay away from the fleece!!! It will be very uncomfortable when wet and under the wet suit.

A wet suit works by keeping a thin layer of water next to your skin to act as insulation…it does not, nor is it intended to, keep you dry!

Put a dry change of clothes in your dry bag to take on the trip. You’ll want those when you get out of the river.
