The best places to kayak in North Carolina?

I just started kayaking and I'm back in North Carolina. I'm not looking for white water or nothing, just some good streams public lakes and rivers that would be a good relaxing walk.

About Bryson is a little water in Nice. I'm not familiar with the whole state, but the west side look good around the Smokey Mountains. I do not care for white water or I'm too old and too have a spill in icy water. : D have fun. I love it! My first run was in Wisconson right after my first skydiving adventure. We kayaked in the backwaters of a large dam. North Carolina has a lot of these areas. Have fun!
