Kayaking Knives

Move to fresh air and the need for protection?
In a few months a few friends and I are planning a trip whitewater kayak by some mountains. The thing is that these mountains are known to be home to a number of bears, which is a problem since day 3 / 2 night plans. I doubt we will find this type of threat, but I can not shake that uncomfortable feeling of doubt. Therefore, I am looking to buy a knife for protection. I'm not sure if anything would serve as a bear in a real fight or flight situation, but it sure makes me sleep a little better at night. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good brand? I've heard good things about Bowie and Ka-Bar knives, but I still experience to know any more about them.
I like cold steel knives of the brand. They have a choice too nice knives / weapons. However, your best protection against bears is to avoid contact with them. Although there is no guarantee he will not come through the bears, there steps you can take to eliminate the chances of an encounter so drĂ¡stica.-setup a kitchen that is at least 50 feet away from your tent and do everything your kitchen, cleaning, and leave the area catering.-hang a bear bag for storing food at least 50 yards from his shop, rent or buy a can of no-oso. keep any food, gum, toothpaste, candy, ham, cough syrup, (also known as something that smells good) in his tent. And, if you are really thinking you might encounter a bear and want to defend themselves again, you should buy some bear pepper spray. A knife can help with your perception of security, but there is no way we're going to do anything to a bear with a knife before crushing its skull miserable little delicate, with a strike (and eaten alive or just decks for hours while they shout and writhe in agony tortuosa). Well, good luck!
