kayaking in Milford Sounds?

I would like to rent a kayak and do some looking around for myself and not with a tour group. Does anyone know somewhere in rent? Or any good tour packages? Also have any accommodation that you recommend?

Milford Sound is not sound. Please check out the web sites published by the other person answering your question. I would hope that we strongly recommend that you go with someone else, ie a friend, but you should not have a problem renting a kayak from the marina or across the backpackers. There are only two places you can stay – one is a private hostel directed by people who own and manage the Milford Track Guided Walks. It accepts a single travelers if they have the room, called Miter Peak Lodge. Hell, if it goes all the way to kayaking then you should do the walk. When I was there, which costs about Tramper 1000NZD for a single (hiker) Otherwise, it is much more Cheap stay in backpackers. I forget their names, but is clean and safe, with excellent views. I believe that providing meals at extra cost, otherwise you can buy cereals, milk, etc. They toast. I think you may also receive meals in the bar on the road. they will help with the kayak and you should be able to find a partner there. Note that it takes two hours to get from Te Anau to Milford, so be prepared with your camera to take stunning photos of many mountains in the middle. I check contracting out kayaking in Te Anau, well, if you can not get one in Milford. If you register for the walk then the boat is part of package tour group.
