Kayaking Camping Trips

Proper planning will lead to a pleasant camping trip
So, like me, are avid truck. My family and I try to go at least camping 4 trips during the year. Here in New Jersey, at least for me anyway, the best time to visit is March to late May and mid September October.
For me the summer months in New Jersey may be too wet, so that a large number of insects and mosquitoes, which frankly is not very a pleasant atmosphere. I try to limit my time during the colder months for this reason and for convenience. There is nothing nice about camping then sitting around the campfire on a cold, crisp. Something you don `t feel you can enjoy during the dog days of summer.
Now that does not mean that is not `t pleasant camping here in New Jersey during the summer months. It is, as are many if not all camps, private and public solid reserve. The main reasons for being, the children go to school and the days are longer.
New Jersey offers a wonderful selection of campsites throughout the state. You can hit the mountains in northern New Jersey, New Jersey campsites on the coast in Cape May. Whichever you choose, be prepared for the land.
If you go camping in northern New Jersey, expect rocky terrain. If you are camping tent, which is something I love to do, bring a good hammer to hit with you the tent stakes in. In fact, you probably should bring some heavy duty tent stakes with you. If you just use the ones that come with your tent, Most likely it will bend on you.
A hammer is not needed in south-central Jersey to camp as the soil is soft, without much to break the rock through.
If you are a novice to camping would not recommend either "rough" in his first attempt. What I mean is, find a campground that has water connections near the site. This will make it easier for you when you need water for cooking, cleaning, etc. You can also select a camp has bathroom facilities. Not all of them have a majority, yes, but to keep on your checklist. I recommend the newest is camp, closer to your site must be at the facility. It doesn `t make the trip more enjoyable when you have to go in the middle of the night and have to walk a half mile reach the bathroom. Once you get used to the camping lifestyle, trust me, it really is not that big of a deal.
Regardless of which camp, what time of year, or you go with, the key to a fun camping trip is safe and rewarding planning. Sit down and write a list everything you need to make the trip comfortable. Separate your list in categories such as food supplies, cooking and eating utensils, sleeping gear and so on. After writing your list, double check with others who are ready with all his might have formed. Maybe you forgot some things they have, and vice versa. The spend more time in the planning process, the easier your journey and the most fun you will have. There is nothing worse then when you are about cook the steaks over an open fire and has forgotten the utensils for cooking, or seasoning, or worse, their own flesh.
Camp is fun and enjoyable for the whole family. Proper planning and not trying to expand beyond your comfort level, will make it even more special.
