Well, I have a bias towards the waterfalls, tennis spectacular views of the waterside and old-growth forests. Duration: 25 minutes to 5 hours. So here are: # 1 Indian Brook Falls, North River Falls # 2, # 3 Black Brook / Falls.

1. India Brook Falls Hike (difficult)

The Cabot Trail runs along the coast in the east (Atlantic) side of Cape Breton Island.

Take the road to the village of Cabot India Brook. A point of reference the bridge over the stream of India. The trail starts in the northwest part of the Brook.

During the heat of summer, you can do the walk and by the stream. In early spring, enter the path, as I said on the northwest side of the bridge. Climb up the side of the creek. Down to the first of two waterfalls.

You can see eagles flying over the Church Pond, just below the creek, often with fish in their mouths to their babies. While following the stream is great for swimming pools and wild strawberries along the sides of the creek. Some people canoe or kayak until the water gets too shallow and the rocks too slippery even portage.

The Falls of India are truly impressive. Duration: 4-5 hours depending on the frequency rountrip stop wild strawberries, or not the photo occasionally.

2. North River Falls (moderate, but long – about 16 kilometers round trip)

South and West in the Cabot Trail is the Northern Desert the river, in fact, part of the protection of the Cape Breton Highlands. Turn off the Cabot Trail in Oregon Road and there is a clearly marked entrance to the road. There is a cartel to hand and a map of the area and local maps that you can take for free.

Be sure to wear good boots and be prepared for a bath at any time between May and mid-October (if they are many). The road crosses a forest of exquisite and winds around although some beautiful land, some private but mostly "Crown" land. In fact, the road has been re-routed in recent years but is well marked and easy to follow.

The walk takes you over a creek Burning has beautiful places for relaxing, picnicking and sunbathing, even yourself (I would say to take a nap?)

Once you arrive to the falls North River will be ready to swim. Like India Brook Falls, the water is almost black, but refreshing and clean. Bring your camera, the walk is long, but impressive. Length 3.5-5 hours. Moderate in difficulty.

3. Black Brook Falls / Marion Falls (two more easy for the price of one)

Black Brook is actually a beach on the Atlantic with a stream feeding into it. The ride is short and is mostly along the beach which is several miles north of the village of Ingonish.

You can swim in the salty sea and shower in a cascade of small freshwater.

Walk around the falls and there are some ways forward Nice above and along the ocean.; Not far is Marion falls, it is worth exploring and lingering around the rocks around. More tourists, but a good place and you really can experience the fresh air, large rocks and soothing sounds of waterfalls.
