where should we go camping/ kayaking in the Everglades?

I haven’t been in that area in 25 years so I’m not the most up -to date source of info for you
From the end of the road at Flamingo there are a lot of paddling options including the 100 mile Wilderness Waterway
Almost all the back-country camping along the routes will be on raised platforms called chickees
A couple of years ago a hurricane came through that area and damaged a lot of things including the Flamingo Lodge -which is still closed
I have no idea what the hurricane did to the back country sites
Give the NPS Visitors Center at Flamingo a call and see what they know 239-695-2945
Everglades NP is one of those rare and special places in America that due to the human encroachment may be gone in a generation or two .
If you have an opportunity to see it from water level and at paddling speed by all means do so
