Sun Peaks in the Summer

Kayak Tours & Rentals

Exploring the lakes of Sun Peaks Resort is made easy and safe with the kayak tour. The inflatable kayaks can seat up to two adults with rentals offered in 4 and 8 hour periods. Family rates are available for tours specifically.

Horseback Trail Rides

Ride alongside a knowledgeable guide who will take you through the Sun Peaks backcountry while providing a history lesson on the region. Advanced reservations are required and participants must be 10+ years of age to ride their own horse.

Fishing with Carlos

Carlos Tallent is a local legend in Sun Peaks and he loves to share his knowledge of fly-fishing with all types of travelers. If you’re interested in catching a big one, Carlos is a safe bet as he’s fished in over 300 lakes across British Columbia. 24 hour advanced reservations are required for his half & full day tours.

Hiking Tours

Explore the mountainside from a different perspective with the people who know it best. A variety of tours are available based on fitness & skill level. Guests are expected to purchase their lift ticket separately and the Village Day Lodge is where all tours begin and end. Hiking tours require a 24 hour advanced notice.

Canoe Tours & Rentals

The Canoe Tour provides a great opportunity to view the natural habitat surrounding the Sun Peaks area. Guests partaking in this tour will have high a likelihood of spotting some amazing local wildlife as the lake serves as their natural drinking fountain. The tour also includes a stop at the John Tod Fur Trading Museum where guests will get to touch real beaver pelt as well as view a 200 year old map of the Sun Peaks region created by David Thompson. Tours take place daily at 12:00pm and 4:30pm – 24 hour advanced reservations are recommended and children 5 & under are free. Alternatively, canoes can be rented out for periods of 4 and 8 hours.
