relocate to Charlotte, NC?

Hi, we are a young married couple. We have plans on moving out of FL and Charlotte is one of the options. We would really appreciate if you give us some information on weather, housing, activities, etc. As i see on the map, Charlotte is 4 hours away from the ocean and somewhere 2 hr away from the mountains. We are looking for fun outdoor activities, its so boring in FL! so basically we are looking for a place that can offer us the beach, kayaking, skiing, hiking, biking, etc.
Also interested in nightlife, specially the dance and techno clubs.
no kids yet, but we are looking for a quiet area ( close to the parks).

You can do none of the activities that you are looking for in Charlotte, you may want to consider another city if you want all those amenities.
