Charles Kayaking

How deep is the Charles river between Mas ave. and the Longfellow bridge, Boston.?

(Cambridge)
Need to figure a length for a kayak anchor for the fireworks.
Thanks IA

I have no clue, but a kayak sounds VERY dangerous given the amount of larger boats that will be filling up the Charles. It is always a boating nightmare, and of course lots of illegal drinking going on. A good friend has a very nice boat and he has stopped going on the 4th, given the mess, danger, not to mention navigating around the new increased secure zones.

While a water view would be awesome, is it really worth the risk?? I’d strongly suggest reconsidering it!!!!! Remember there are plenty of good views on land, esp on the Cambridge side. Best of luck if you try it.

PS…read Blue’s answer. You’ll hear the music even if it is windy…they have loudspeakers now broadcasting it! Least where I usually go, the Memorial Drive elevated overpass (awesome view), closer to Kendall Square than Mass Ave. But far as I know they have speakers down for a fair distance.
