Brantford is no stranger to raising Canada's icons. It is known as your city for being the birthplace of Alexander Graham Bell. Brantford there has not been done, however, is also home to one of the greatest athletes of all time – Wayne Gretzky.

Brantford is located in the river Grande, in southern Ontario. It is home to just over 90 000 residents. Not just a place where greatness is born though. It is the home that belongs to the major attractions, and here are some:

1. Canada Day Festival: Almost every town has a Canada Day Festival. If you do not have a festival can be set halfway or at least a fireworks show. Brantford leads to the next level though. In 2004, nobody was able Brantford organize an event in Canada. The mayor promised that would never happen again. He got the ball rolling by a nonprofit organization dedicated to planning Canada Day event.

This organization has put on a spectacular show. With a budget of almost $ 250 000 in the Canada Day festival has become in a great deal of time. Headliners have included Juno winners, The Trews and Jeff Healy. Shining Stars Tourism Awards has recognized the festival twice in 2006 and 2009. The festival regularly attracts over 35 000 people.

2. The Ford plant: This is not where you build F150's. In fact, this is not related with the Ford Motor Company at all. The Ford plant is a non-profit music venue that has been around since 2002. Has also been used as a gallery art and music store / label.

The real attraction is the music though. The Ford plant is unique in that only seats 100 people. This makes it very intimate and live performances of rock and not surprising to see the spill outside. The Ford plant has received large Canadian Blue Rodeo and more acts of high-tech cutting Arcade Fire and Tokyo Police Club. CBC Radio named one of Canada's Top 20 live music venues.

3. The Great River: The river crosses a large expanse of Grand Ontario. So why mention it in an article in Brantford? Well built Brantford in this stretch of the Rio Grande and we can thank its success and in a village in the fact that it is in deeper.

In some area of the Grand River is almost reduced to a minimum with a depth of only one to two feet. This is not true in Brantford. It's big and deep here. It makes for some of the best canoeing in Ontario, kayaking and rafting. Fishermen will not mind this section of the Great it seems that is home to approximately 85 species of fish.

Brantford has a rich history that goes beyond the famous people born there. It is picturesque, situated in one of the largest rivers in Ontario and has a night life that might surprise you to a city of its size. Brantford is a great destination to visit, and hears not want to visit the birthplace of El Grande.
