What is your schedule like? Is it a pocket-sized notebook, a monthly calendar, a magazine, or a planner? Is it paper or electronic? The style you choose depends on your "personal organization style and lifestyle. However, no matter what the calendar style you choose, it is a very powerful tool. Your calendar is a tool used to create your life. This is the place where decisions about what becomes part of your life and what is not. When someone invites you to an event, which is the first thing that happens?

You decide whether or not to attend. This usually happens in a split second. You just trust on intuition, or you influenced by the person who invited you. What if you were able to take some time to make that decision? What if you could think it, decide if this is the way you really want to spend your time, and then respond to the invitation? Your calendar gives you that opportunity. It gives you the opportunity to put things important in your life first, so that they can mold and shape your life.

Being able to say, "Let me check my schedule" gives the time needed to make a decision. If you look at the timetable for his life. So take a look at yours. What do you see? Is full of work? Do things do you like? When was the last time I went to the theater? Kayak? Curled up with a good book? Do you have time for your family? These are things that are more important for you listed in your calendar? If not, then you probably are not happening. So what do you do with your time? It will take some time thinking on their priorities. When these are clear to you, put on your calendar.

Remember to schedule time for yourself. You are not good for anyone if you do not take the time to refresh. So take time to meditate, pray or play, which renews the spirit. Take the time to the people you love, and time to follow their dreams. Life is busy and do not create time for the important things will not happen. Life happens whether we plan or not. If we do not control someone else our life plan we.

The next time someone invites you somewhere, or asking you to do something, take a deep breath and then say "I'll check my calendar and know. Could tomorrow afternoon a good time to get back to you? "Then what you said you would. Check your calendar and check your priorities. Is this something I really want to do? Does it fit with your priorities at this time? If your number one priority is his family and I went to dinner together, but someone has invited you to attend a conference, or to play basketball, an event that you want to take precedent? These are the moments that shape our lives.

This is your opportunity to a small selection that will impact your life. So take your time. Just because someone asks you a question, or gives an invitation, does not mean that you have to give an immediate response. As Frederick Frieseke said: "The key to your universe is that you can choose." It's your life, choose wisely.
